David Howard, an Electrical Engineer and Energy Assessor, was first invited to speak at our RAIA-NSW Country Division’s, Annual Conference in 2008. His knowledge and communication skills were so highly respected that we invited him back to speak at our 2009 Conference. His 1st talk addressed Section J of the BCA. His 2nd talk focused on Lighting.

David’s knowledge is extensive because of his many years spent in the “Energy” field and his active involvement in the latest Government sustainability schemes. These are complex issues covering much technical detail which David can explain clearly.
One key ability David has when delivering his talks is to explain the historical developments of the relevant Codes and then combine this with the various developments in Lighting, Glazing, Insulation and Sandwich Panel technology etc.

His talks have been highly informative to our members, often dispelling common myths and generally bringing us up to speed on the best choice of such things as lighting and importantly explaining why.
