Another reason for going solar is the increasing cost of retail electricity. Electricity bills increased by 15% in July 2011 and with further increases expected, reducing your energy bills is becoming more important. Customers can use electricity from their Solar Power Systems on site, reducing the amount of electricity they need to purchase from their retailer. This is called 'net metering' and can reduce electricity bills.
